Hi I'm using the most recent alpha release for Drupal 6 and I can't figure out how to get it working with Lightbox2.

I can successfully embed video from video, but clicking on the thumbnail sends me to the vimeo page rather than launching the video in LightBox.

Am I missing a setting somewhere? Or is it just that this feature is not yet available in the alpha version?

Lightbox2 is not meant to handle videos. Thickbox is, and it already works with emvideo.

lightbox2 handles video fine, you must upload the FLVPLayer to your site first.

  1. Goto admin/settings/lightbox2
  2. Open the video settings expander
  3. Check Enable Video Support
  4. Get flvplayer here
  5. Run setup on your local computer, then upload FLVPlayer.exe to the drupal root
  6. In the Video Settings in the Path to FLV Player, put '/FLVPlayer.exe'
  7. See this node on how to embed the video url. http://drupal.org/node/252276
  8. Now when you click that link in your node, it will use lightbox2 to view the video!

Why does it need a .exe file to play video? Is there a Mac compatible way of getting video support into Lightbox2? I've tried using various other options such as the SWFObject API and directing it to the media player I use for jQuery Media, but LightBox2 doesn't recognize either of these options. Any help would be appreciated.

(It works fine on Thickbox, but I would prefer to use LightBox2.)

You do not need to use FLVPlayer to see video with emfield and lightbox2. That's lightbox2's support for playing local video, which is completely unrelated to emfield's support of lightbox2.

However, emfield does now support lightbox2. Lightbox2 had previously worked with emfield in d5, but they broke that support in d6. I put the support just last week or so directly into emfield for d6, although it's currently in the dev version. It just works. No extra configuration: you just select the thickbox/lightbox formatter for cck or views display.

I've followed all of the above suggestions/directions, and I can get everything except vimeo to work. Does anyone have any syntax examples for vimeo? Thanks.
